Candy Land movie
Back in February 2009 Universal bought the movie rights to Candy Land, the popular racing board game by Hasbro. Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) was then hired to write a script for the film. And Director Kevin Lima (Enchanted) was set to helm the project. But it's now 2011, and it seems the project has fallen into development limbo. Been searching around, and haven't found any update.
For those who don't know the game Candy Land: players race around a board full of colored squares in order to reach the Candy Castle and King of Kandy. To better understand, take a look that 1980s commercial:
Candyland
I used to play Candy Land when I was a kid and I'd be glad to go watch a movie adaptation of the game. Hoping the project hasn't been canceled.
Anyway, more details about the movie Candy Land soon!

Update - May 24, 2011 - The Candy Land is back on track, with two new scriptwriters, Glenn Berger, and Jonathan Aibel:
"We envision [the movie Candy Land] as Lord of The Rings, but set in a world of candy… We don’t see it as a movie based on a board game, although it has characters from that world and takes the idea of people finding themselves in a world that happens to be made entirely of candy where there are huge battles going on… We are going for real comedy, real action, and real emotions at stake."
